生平

1959年他获得 University of Madras 的本科学位，1963年取得 Indian Statistical Institute 的博士学位，其导师是 C. Radhakrishna Rao （ 英语 ： C. R. Rao ） 。自从1963年以来，他就一直在纽约大学担任教学工作。
